born in july

this weekend new york received its first real taste of spring. we were treated by a sunny saturday followed by a perfectly warm, rainy sunday.  here are some highlights from the weekend:

hyacinths are out at the farmers' market. they smell like spring to me
so glad my kitchen is now perfumed by them!

i got mowed down by a 4yr old on a scooter
(we were both on the ground, literally)
now i am covered in black and blues.
they make me giggle every time i bump one of my achey little bruises

very-almost-awkward-run-ins... well, an instance in which i saw old friends, waved, realized i was not seen... and then when i panicked and attempted to avoid awkwardness, i ran away.  it was awkward.  period.
i think i was probably spotted, oyyyyy!
all you can do is roll your eyes and laugh

excellent drinks with my lovelies at weather up in prospect heights

perfect Perfect PERFECT yoga classes.  i enjoyed an hour and a half of very intense yoga that was accompanied by rain falling against the window panes... yummmm

a rainy sunday spent noshing, watching goonies, making forts and laughing... exceptional in its simplicity:

feast... and hot cocoa spiked with baileys

some of the best people i know

hey you guy-yyys

shadow puppets

fort-building with robert

me... stuck in the corner... being attacked by the cat...
so funny i almost peed my pants

one final attempt to get out, an ultimate reach for freedom
(wee hand on the left)
but that was the last of ari
she was never heard from again...

how was your weekend, frenchie?!
