winter, welcome!

I love this time of year - the bridge between Autumn and Winter.  I have always considered myself a summer baby (in part because my birthday is in July).  However, the older I get, the deeper my love of the chilly months grows!  This stretch of time from Thanksgiving - New Years is just so utterly yummy!  It's the perfect balance of family, friends, cooking, eating, drinking.  Not to mention, the warmth inside your home in contrast to the nippiness that awaits you outdoors...PERFECTION!

Em, Brooklyn and I miss you, hurry back to NY, please!!xxa

The lot behind my apartment is now housing CHRISTMAS TREES!

Seasonal Breakfast for dinner... complete with (rum-spiked) eggnog!

All I seem to want to do these days is make snowflakes to hang around my apartment and bakebakebake...

***(Em, this spinach, mushroom, and gruyere quiche is dedicated to you!
I'll post the recipe SOON!)***

And one last thing for the day, I simply can't get over the design of these milk cartons... all so quirky and vintage-looking.  I feel like they haven't been updated since they were originally designed sometime between 1945&1960.  Amazing!  (Look at that eggnog carton on the left...SO festive!)

I have always loved milk bottle designs. They are amazing and the glass one makes wonderful flower vase :)
